Make Ends Meet!

The worst nightmare have arrived when I quitted my job with IBM.

The most embrassessing moment is to face my financial debts nakely! 

I have to sit down and review it honestly.

This is the time.  I am no way to hide anymore!  I am corner and I have to face it like a man.

A total of about $3500 is my monthly fixed expense! 

I told CW, my wife and go through her fixed expense too!  In total, our expenses are about $5000.  Since I got no saving, our total saving (ok, her saving) with her income can only let us last for 1 year!

I was in huge debts 2 years ago.  How I ended up in debts…here were my account of hard-learning experience!

I do not have financial intelligent.

I lost over $20,000 on stock and options because i trusted “professional” advise and let them managed my fund. 

I do not save for rainy day.

I do not have a safety net.

CW’s last day with IBM

The day is here.

It’s CW’s last day with IBM.  Unfortunately, yesterday while preparing for her handover, he harddisk crashed!  I guess, her boss will her for sobataging the group and do not want to hand over probably.

Illogical Calls from bank telemarketter…

“Hello, good morning Mr Tay, I’m calling from XXX bank.  We have an exciting offer for you.  Currently, we are offering 2% interest per year for any amount you overdrafted with us for min period of 6 month.  All you need to do is to transfer min $5000 to your bank account from our facility and you will be able to enjoy this fantastic offer.  So, how much do you want to transfer?”

“Err…i am not interested…”

“But, Mr Tay, this is a special offer only to our premium customers and you will not be able to get this kind of low interest offer again, so, why not use this opportunity to give yourself $5000 so that you can use it for anything…”

Miracle

A little girl went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet.She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully.  Three times, even.  The total had to be exactly perfect.  No chance here for mistakes. Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall’s Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.

She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention but he was too busy at this moment.  Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing.  She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster.  No good.  Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter.  That did it!
