Event: Fathers’ day

This mark an unforgettable day for me. Though, I have been father for almost 6 years (since Marina was born on 19 Jun 2001), I never felt the same feeling as I was today.

Firstly, the kids (Marina & Kent) and CW have been planning and working out something for me over last week. I know they were planning for some “surprises” for me. They lock the room and stay up late and forbidden me to enter it.

Secondly, today was also Marina’s first camp. She was 6 years old and this is the first time, we send her for a full day church camp in Paris Ris PA campsite.

In the morning, Marina excitingly woke me up and asked me to close my eye (??? Woke me up and then requested me to close my eye… a bit of not logical) Well, when I opened my eyes again, she was holding this small little ice-cream stick sofa for my handphone. Kent also came in with his abstract pictures and given me as Fathers’ day card.

Well, the most shocking surprise was this was idea from CW. CW was never an artistic women and yet, she got the idea from newspaper and organised this “surprise” gifts and it was indeed very warmth hearted. Thanks CW!

After sending Marina to the camp, I had sometime with Kent alone, playing at the playground. Then, we went for lunch and reach home about 2pm. In the evening, we went back to the camp site and have a mass celebrated by Fr Henry Hsu. As in conjunction with the Fathers’ day (again), he especially blessed the fathers; the children who participated the camp, made a sushi for their fathers. Marina, proudly, presented hers (made of Styro-form and black paper) which is a fridge magnet.

This was indeed a very special and marked a memorable event for my life… my kids celebrated my first event-filled fathers’ day.
