Clouds of Praise

2007-08-28 星期二

I met Agnes (蒂娜) last Sat in my church.  It’s been a while, maybe 10 - 20 years since we last met.  Though I heard she was in this missionary work, I did not make an effort to contact her to find out more.  However, with God’s grace, she came to my parish St Anne’s Church to raise funds by selling their CD

I was indeed touch by their work. Especially for their Leader, Bernard, he given up his full time highly paid job and turn to GOD Work.  Reading his Bio from the site, he had given up his Car, House and Income, his families are all in tune to support him.  Judging from their work, they are fruitful!  GOD BLESS THEM!

I have a chance to chat with his young boy, who turn out to be a pleasant  surprise.  A boy of age 11 but very GOD Loving.  I bought a CD from him knowing that he composed one of the songs.  I bummed into him again half-an-hour later, and to my surprised, he greeted me:  “赞美感谢主,愿主祝福你!“ which mean “Praise & Thank GOD, May GOD bless you”  I spoke to Bernard and praise his good parenting to bring up this kid, and Bernard turn to GOD “it’s all GOD’s grace.  HE had blessed us much!”

I have never come across anyone so GOD loving and I sense it, he said it from the bottom of his heart!  Knowing they are related to one of my choir members, I found out that they are indeed, not just GOD loving in front of us, stranger, but they practice it daily at home.

I have an urge to join them, to learn from them, their Faith, their Love, their GODLY.

May GOD Bless them!

Getting Started…Again

2007-03-12 星期一

I am out of my mind again!

I went down to PC Show to get a notebook.

My ideal PC is large screen, with the red dot mouse joystick and touch pad, cost about $2500.

I sourced around and zoomed down to DELL, HP.  Both only have large screen without the red dot joystick.  Looking at it, more than likely, I will get the DELL for the price reason.

While making a decision, I came across Toshiba M100.  It’s $2699, slightly off the mark, but I was totally trill as the salesperson, brought the  notebook up about 2ft above the table, and suddenly, while the notebook is still on and running, he release his hand and have the notebook drop on the table.  The highly rollburst was a plus plus plus point.  Thus, I decided to spend a little and buy this unit.  On top, since it’s from Harvey Norman, it allow me up to 48 month of zero interest hire purchase if I have Diners’ card.  Though I have one, but it was expired and I did not replace the valid card in my wallet, so can only use my Master Card which allow up to 24 month installment. Morning Breeze Walking

2007-01-24 星期三

Yesterday, after having lunch with Mr Youm, I was inspired by his determine effort to wake up early each day and walk up Faber Hill with his wife.  As such, I came back and proposed to CW about this “superb” idea.

Today, she woke me up at 5:30 and I jumped off the bed immediately.  I looked forward to it as I want to make a huge change this year.  It’s insane to do the same things today just like yesterday and expect to have a different tomorrow as today.  Thus, it’s been a “routine” year 2006 and I want to have a different year 2007.  I have make my resolutions  to have a healthy years ahead, i will have to be different as compare to old time!

We went down and walk around the garden for 15min.  The air were fresh and it does feel good to be awake.  Not only it’s a great step taken for me, it’s also give me more time in a day as I started my day early. (more…)

Vegetarian = Buddhist?

2007-01-20 星期六

It’s been about 1 month since i turned Vegetarian.  It’s not an easy task especially being a meat-eater for last 38 years.  Many times, seeing those delicious juicy meat, I began to regret why on earth did I make such stupid decision.  However, the Big WHY answers all that and motivated me to continue on.

However, many people stereotypcasting vegetarian as buddhist.   Even in my own church, I experience it myself today.  today, being our church choir election day, we had catered packet food for members.  Since I’m the rare one in the group who are vegetarian, I did not tell the caterer my needs.  (more…)

Diet Goal

2006-12-19 星期二

Ah Bao invited me to WBG on 7 Dec and did a health screening and i was so shock to find my health is in such a bad shape.  As such, on that same day, it just came to me to make a decision!

A decision that I had never thought that I would make one day.

I decided to go as much as possible vegetarian.

Yes,  Vegetable as much as possible.  After being a meat eater for last 38 years, off-balance diet, it’s point of time for me to take good care of my body.  My body is giving me signal an design which I have been ignoring for last few many years.

I used to make fun of those who vegetarians and now I realized that I was wrong and I own them a apology.  So, to all my friends out there, SORRY that I make fun of you.  I should respect you and know that you are taking good care of your health which I was not.  SORRY again! (more…)

A $500,000 life

2006-10-26 星期四

Read this news last week that a young man was so broke that he throw himself off the MRT track and killed himself.  The shocking part was his wife could not affort to take public to see his body in hospital.  As such, after the news was published, many good-hearted people started to send in donation for the victim family.

The donation flown in and within a week, she have gotten over $500,000.  So, she have enough for the funeral and for her son’s studies.  She mentioned that she will donate $100,000 to charity and save the rest of the money.  Again, people begin to questions how could she have such a large sum of money.  Some fund-manager mentioned that she should hand over her money for ‘experienced’ fund-manager.
