Anger and Forgive
Was in Novena today and the priest preach about anger and forgive…
“A soilder was shot at his leg during Gulf war and needed to be cut off. He was interviewed and was asked if he was angry about his enemy.
He replied, he was and found out that been angry and not fogiving make himself feel worst and it did not mean anything to his enemy. In the end, he realised that once he stop angry and forgave, he felt relief and better.
The priest continued that he was in the confession room recently and a boy came in and asked if the priest read about the news about a principal’s car was burnt. The priest asked if he was the boy who did it and the boy admitted. so, the priest asked, was he angry with his principal when he did it and the boy said, he was. But been a Catholic, his anger reduced to 20% and for that 20%, he used a match and a can of kerosene and intended to burn only the tyre. Unfortunately, he did not know that the fuel tank was just above the tyre and in the end, the whole car was brunt. He was deeply sorry and regretted of his doing. The principal, on the other hand, forgiven him and pled the police to drop the charge.
In the bible, a woman was caught in the act of adultery. So, she was brought in front of Jesus and prepared to stone her to death. Jesus, stood up and said, ‘who have no sin shall cast the first stone’ and one by one, the man, dropped the stone and left. So in the end, left alone Jesus and the woman. So Jesus asked, what happened…the woman said, they left. So Jesus replied, then, leave too. However, do not sin again!
So, we learnt to forgive and if we end out anger, do turn to GOD!”
Coincidentally, during today mass homily, Fr Henry preach about comforter. He mentioned that in Peanets Cartoon Strip, there is a character named Linus who will carry a blanket with him all along. This blanket is a comfortor to him. As for Catholic, we should resolve to GOD as our comfortor. What good does it have if we own the whole world and lose our soul, so only GOD is the ultimate goal we should strife for. Don’t worry about our need, trust him. He will give “ENOUGH” to us. ENOUGH mean just nice! Also, when he given more (eg talent), don’t hide it. use it and return it to society and church as well.Â
