My PC crashed since last Friday and I cannot do anything!
I send it in to IBM on Friday and they came back on Tuesday telling me that total charge for changing the mother board, LCD screen, casing is a total of S$2700! Hey, DELL is promoting a Core 2 Duo with !GB RAM and 120GB Hard Disk for only S$1500!
However, as there are many valuable data within and it’s a chore to reload all my application and migrate my data, I opted for changing the mother board which cost only S$700Â instead with labour!
Today, IBM called me again, telling me that unfortunately, my casing is beyond repair and all the screws track is already damage and they were unable to put back if I were to change the mother board only. ( I have a feeling that either they do not want to repair it or they want to force me to buy a new notebook) After finding out the price of replacing the casing and the mother board, it’s coming to S$1700! So, without further consideration, I told them that I will not want to repair and will buy one new unit since there is a PC show @ Suntec from 8 Mar 2007 - 11 Mar 2007.
Yippi, I’m going to have a new PC!
