Mission: To clean the house in preparation of Chinese New Year

Operation Description:

It’s 1 week before Chinese New Year and we are still very much behind schedule in term of tidy up our house and getting new year goodies.

Today, we decided to stay at home, over weekend, not going out, but determine to at least clean up the house.

From day to dawn, we spend whole day cleaning every corner of the house. CW, covered the kitchen, the room and mainly, practically every places! As for me, well, I’m at her disposal. She will advise me to cover places that she did not have time (wish) to cover. So, I am tasked to clean the lights on the ceiling, the basin cabinet, the display cupboard, and lastly, will be the toys boxes in our kids room 阅读全文 »

Yesterday, after having lunch with Mr Youm, I was inspired by his determine effort to wake up early each day and walk up Faber Hill with his wife.  As such, I came back and proposed to CW about this “superb” idea.

Today, she woke me up at 5:30 and I jumped off the bed immediately.  I looked forward to it as I want to make a huge change this year.  It’s insane to do the same things today just like yesterday and expect to have a different tomorrow as today.  Thus, it’s been a “routine” year 2006 and I want to have a different year 2007.  I have make my resolutions  to have a healthy years ahead, i will have to be different as compare to old time!

We went down and walk around the garden for 15min.  The air were fresh and it does feel good to be awake.  Not only it’s a great step taken for me, it’s also give me more time in a day as I started my day early. 阅读全文 »

It’s been about 1 month since i turned Vegetarian.  It’s not an easy task especially being a meat-eater for last 38 years.  Many times, seeing those delicious juicy meat, I began to regret why on earth did I make such stupid decision.  However, the Big WHY answers all that and motivated me to continue on.

However, many people stereotypcasting vegetarian as buddhist.   Even in my own church, I experience it myself today.  today, being our church choir election day, we had catered packet food for members.  Since I’m the rare one in the group who are vegetarian, I did not tell the caterer my needs.  阅读全文 »

This is Kent’s first project from school.  It is a binocular making from 2 toilet roll cone and tapes taping them together.  He was excited as this is his first art and craft made all by himself.  he had send this from Marina last year, he would use a long cone and pretend it to be a telescope or a violin bow.  he will proudly show off his violin skill when he use the toy guitar as violin and the long cone as bow.

Now, I see the huge progress of Kent.  He is able to utter and reasoning, of course,arguing on some of his rights too.  Though he is only 3 years old, well, foreseen a tough teenage crisis with the parent, that’s me in coming years.

Anyway, love you, Kent, if you are reading this in future and I’m proud of you too, this is your first project!

Everything I Learned about Life I Learned from Noah’s Ark

1. Don’t miss the boat.
2. Remember that we are all in the same boat.

5. Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

8. Speed isn’t always an advantage - the snails were on board with the cheetahs.
9. When you’re stressed, float a while.
10. Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

Inspired by “Super Nanny”, we had came up with a similar chart for Marina and Kent. This was one of my Resolution this year that I will do something different, be more proactive, and build a better relationship with my kids.
This was an long awaited item I promised to do for my kids since last year. Marina wanted a castle with flowers and for Kent, I designed it as he still do not know what he want;so I do it according to my own feel.

We wanted to do this as a way to educate and encourage our child, especially Kent. Kent do not listen nor act despite we used both soft/hard technique. He is pretty stubborn and will cry and throw tandem to get what he wants. I and CW hope to use this chart to monitor his behavior and encourage his well-discipline.

When they reach the 10 good deeds, that is the castle for Marina and the Sun for Kent, they will be entitled a surprise. So, our most talk about is the “Surprise!” We will hint to them if they do not behalf well, they will not get their “surprise” earlier.

So, Marina & Kent…Gan Batte ne!

What a surprised! I got a call from radio91.3 DJ Tasmin that Marina’s Clip had won her a price.

It was last Christmas 2006 that I video Marina singing “Jingle Bell” and edited it as a ecard in http://www.AllInterviewsWithGod.com/xcards  It supposed to be something fun and saving on my postage stamps.  Then, one fine day, I heard over radio that they need some video clips of children singing christmas carol, so, I send in her entry. 阅读全文 »

It’s not easy to get Kent out of the bed in the morning.

Firstly, he slept late. He refused to sleep the previous night and wanted CW to carry him. Seems like he did not really enjoy himself in school at all.

Then, when putting him into his new uniform, he dislike the color and refused to put on. After putting on, he complain about the label on his shirt and wanted to take it off. In no choice, we cut away the label and get him pacified.

When we send him down, he did not want to get on the bus as he have the impression that mom will be with him like the day before. Marina came back telling us that he actually cried all his way to school.

We have been preparing Kent for his first day to school since last December. However, he is not very keen and in fact, anxiety! He would cling to CW and refused to let go. However, there are other event that happened on the first day of school.

The school bus, in fact, did not come and Marina was so disappointed as she was looking forward to her school. (Well she is weird as she is the only child I heard that cried during holiday due to boredom and miss school)
We called the new driver a few time, and waited for about 30min before another bus came to pick them up. CW went into the bus with Kent and Marina and I drove to the school after that.

We expressed our unhappiness to Ms Irean (The Principal) as we were not the only child that was miss out, actually, the driver miss more than half of the childrens. So I was worry that will they miss Marina and Kent when school dismiss. Anyway, Ms Irean assured us that she saw the drivers had a few dry-run before the school start and she will feedback to the company.

Kent saw us in school (because we also need to buy his uniform) and kept coming to us. So, we need to direct him back to the class and sneak out of the school 阅读全文 »

Ah Bao invited me to WBG on 7 Dec and did a health screening and i was so shock to find my health is in such a bad shape.  As such, on that same day, it just came to me to make a decision!

A decision that I had never thought that I would make one day.

I decided to go as much as possible vegetarian.

Yes,  Vegetable as much as possible.  After being a meat eater for last 38 years, off-balance diet, it’s point of time for me to take good care of my body.  My body is giving me signal an design which I have been ignoring for last few many years.

I used to make fun of those who vegetarians and now I realized that I was wrong and I own them a apology.  So, to all my friends out there, SORRY that I make fun of you.  I should respect you and know that you are taking good care of your health which I was not.  SORRY again! 阅读全文 »
